My Carme Blouse – Carme Sew-Along

by Pauline Alice

Sorry for the silence, I’m working hard on the next pattern and times flies when you are glued to a computer screen all day long…

As a welcome interruption from all those pixels, I thought I would show you the Carme blouse I made during the Sew-Along. If you have seen the videos, you’ve seen my fabric. It’s an aqua green cotton, very fresh and spring-like, and so easy to work with.

I chose mother-of-pearl buttons with some gold for a delicate look.

As for the pattern and construction, I’m not going to say anything special as you can see every details on video tutorials 😉Carme blouse pattern, pauline alice patterns, in aqua green cotton and mother-of-pearl and golden buttons.2copiaCarme blouse pattern, pauline alice patterns, in aqua green cotton and mother-of-pearl and golden buttons.

Thanks Kerry! Thanks the good thing about plain fabric, but now after seeing all your pretty printed blouses, I want to make one with print as well!

Gorgeous! Depending on the fabric I would choose, this could be made into something very fancy, or with a more casual look. I will get this pattern for sure! Love the pictures!

You're right Youanna! Choose linen or cotton for a casual blouse or a voile o dotted swiss for something more dressed up (and great buttons, it always helps).

I can attest that I watched every single video of the sew along. I loved it and the way your shirt turned out!

Thanks Maddie! I hope my broken english didn't upset you too much 😉 Ever since I moved to Spain, I'm forgetting how to speak english, and what is more of a problem, french.

Great blouse, and it even reminds me a bit of our german traditional blouses! Your photos are beautiful as always!

Thanks Marie. You know what, I've been inspired by traditional blouses here in Spain (my boyfriend's aunt showed me a 100 years old handstitched traditional shirt that had some pin tucks and I just loved the detail).

I love the fabric you've chosen Pauline, it looks so great with the contrast cuffs! The buttons are gorgeous too!

Hi Fiona, thanks! I didn't use contrast fabric for the cuffs, it's just the wrong side of my fabric that's a little bit lighter. But I do like how it looks when I roll my sleeves up 😉
